Recognizing the need to ensure appropriate and adequate training of medical professionals for tomorrow’s global society, the University of Edinburgh and Guangzhou Medical University have come together to create the Guangzhou-Edinburgh Medical Education Alliance (GEMEA). The primary aim of the alliance is to pool knowledge and share best practice in the education and training of medical practitioners.GEMEA is endorsed by the Chinese Medical Association and supported by relevant local and national government departments in China.The mission of GEMEA is to identify, develop and share best-practices in the provision of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education across the globe.

Guangzhou Medical University (GMU) is a full-time medical University. GMU is qualified by Ministry of Education, China to recruit international medical students in English.
Guangzhou Summit Forum on Higher Education of Health Sciences Development 2008, organized by Chinese Medical Association, Medical Education Committee of Chinese Association of Higher Education, Guangzhou Medical University, was held in China Hotel on Nov.8th-9th,2008.The summit provided an excellent opportunity for experts from all around the world to exchange their views.
